Things To Do
Tour the National Mall
Tour the National Mall or simply stroll around the grounds spanning over two miles. This grassy park is home to iconic landmarks such as the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the U.S. Capitol Building. Spend some time walking from one landmark to the next, and don’t miss the World War II or Vietnam Veterans Memorials along the way. If you have time and the weather is agreeable, we recommend renting a pedal or swan boat at the tidal basin.
Museums
D.C. is home to some of the best museums in the world and many of them are free to visit. Some of our favorites include the National Museum of American History, Archives, National Air and Space Museum, and the National Zoo. The district has plenty to offer, whether you’re interested in art, science, American history, or meeting the newest DC residents Bao Li and Qing Bao at the zoo.
Georgetown
For a break from the monuments, head to Georgetown, a charming neighborhood, and walk along M Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Filled with boutiques and great dining, these cobblestone streets have a lot to offer. Our favorite places to grab a bite include Martin’s Tavern (ask for the JFK & Jackie O proposal booth), Yellow, Wingos, and for a more formal dining experience, Sequoia. Don’t forget to take a walk along the C&O Canal for a bit of tranquility by the water.

Some of the best dinner and cocktail restaurants near our reception venue are Joe’s Steak and Seafood, Old Ebbitt Grill, The Hamilton, VUE Rooftop (located in Hotel Washington), Off the Record (located in the Hay Adams), and the Round Robin Bar (located in the Willard).
