It is easier to get to the island of Zakynthos, if you fly straight from Athens to Zakynthos. Make sure that you print you ticket to get on any flights flying within Greece. They will charge extra if you do no have a printed ticket.

The Kyllini Zakynthos ferry route connects Greece with Zante and is currently operated by 2 ferry companies. The Kefalonian Lines service runs up to 3 times per day with a sailing duration of around 1 hour while the Ionian Group service runs up to 7 times per day with a duration from 1 hr.
