How We Met

From the Grooms Point of View

About 4 years ago I started a new job at a call center and I found out that my friend Jasmyn started working there too in another department. She told me later on that her roommate was looking for a job and was going to be working there too. I said "Oh that's cool. Maybe we can eat lunch together or something," not thinking anything more into it. Anywho, her friend started working at the call center and we finally met and had lunch together. I was instantly attracted to her. She had cute baby dreads and a beautiful smile, and her laugh was so contagious it warmed my cold, pessimistic heart. But her personality is what really "drew" me in (haha-get it?) . In all honesty, I was relieved to meet someone that down to earth.

How We Actually Met

From Brides Point of View

I started a new job and had finished the two week long training session., When I was sitting at my new desk, I received an internal email from "Carey" in the ATM department. They invited me to, "hang out or go get lunch sometime," and that "there were others at CSC, I had yet to meet." I was so confused because I didn't remember meeting anyone named "CAREY." I honestly thought it was a random girl in another department that saw the email announcing the new hires and was looking to make new friends or something. So I told Carey, "I'm trying to get the hang of my new job and preferred to keep it professional," to which they never sent a reply to. LOL Having just met Traey through Jasmyn(Maid of Honor) weeks earlier, I did not know anything about him. So eventually I learned Traey's last name was Watkins and a bell went off. I emailed the "girl" back like, "Wait....are you Traey??" We had a good laugh. Afterwards, a work friendship filled with meme emails, trash talking, and hangout plans with our mutual friend Jasmyn W. began.

The Proposal (I said "OK")

From Brides Point of View - 11.25.18

I figured out I wanted to marry him earlier that month, so I told his mother that day. We started making hypothetical wedding plans as we went around town pricing supplies to decorate with. After a long day with Mrs. DeeDee, Traey came home surprised to see me in his living room, because we didn't make any plans to see each other that day. I told him that me and his mom are friends and that we make plans sometimes. He told me to wait a second... he got the ring, he asked me. I laughed, because I didn't know what to say. He took my laughter and no response as a "No." So he was shook for a while. We went to the Mid-week meeting together a few hours later. When we got back, we had a minute to talk. We talked about it and I explained that my laughing didn't mean "No," but it was out of bashfulness. He tried proposing again and I said "OK."
