We're getting married!

The weekend of March 20th, 2021 Washington state was finally allowed to continue into Phase 3 of COVID Restrictions, which meant 50% capacity for indoor spaces. Both Jason and Jasmine decided to celebrate this by going out for a night of drinking and karaoke with their closest friends. When the girls arrived at The Spot Bar and Grill the place was packed, busier than it had been in over a year. Looking around, every table was full, Jasmine's friend spotted 2 guys sitting at a 6 person table. She went over to them and they somewhat reluctantly agreed to allowing 3 random women join them at their table. Jason was shy at first and spent most of the night to himself and his best friend. They both karaoked a few songs, cheering each other on while the other was up on stage and singing along to each other's chosen song. Not much came of that night itself. A month later, after having added Jasmine on facebook, Jason messaged and they started to hit it off almost immediately. The conversation was never lacking, there always seemed to be something to talk about and relate to. To this day, some of those earliest messages between the two and the connection that was felt is Jasmine's favorite aspect of their relationship. When people tell you to stop looking and the right one will find you, it's often hard to believe. Especially after COVID restrictions, neither Jason or Jasmine thought they would ever meet someone authentically but they did just that.

The Vancouver Waterfront has always been a special spot for Jason and Jasmine in their relationship. So it was no surprise that this was the location Jason picked for the proposal. The waterfront is where they had their first official date, which was the night the first time "will you be my girlfriend" was asked. It was also the place where Jason first said "I love you". On the night of Saturday July 15th, 2023, Jason had planned a picnic dinner on the waterfront. After enjoying a cozy pizza picnic, the two of them took a walk around the waterfront. In roughly the same spot Jason asked Jasmine to be his girlfriend over 2 years prior, he asked her to marry him. An enthusiastic yes was the response. The night was celebrated by taking photos with a close friend and having ice cream with family! We are so excited for this next chapter of our love story and cannot wait to share it with our close friends and family!
