It all started in 2014 when Sydney decided to go visit her best friend Meredith at UNC Chapel Hill. While there, Sydney and Daniel crossed paths on Franklin Street, but when he asked for her phone number, she said no. Fast forward to 2016 and they both ended up moving to the same city post-college. After running into each other on a night out, Daniel decided to try again for that phone number. This time he got it!

After seven years of dating, on December 15th, Daniel took Sydney on a very long walk. He walked her past the place they first met, then a church bench they used to sit on because it was Sydney's favorite place to sit and read, and finally a statue downtown they had carved their initials into when they first began dating. After showing her that their initials were still carved into the statue, Daniel got down on one knee and asked Sydney to marry him. Despite that entire walk and all of the very obvious hints, Sydney was still completely shocked and responded by saying "Are you sure???". Daniel promised he was, in fact, very sure.

Now, we want to share our excitement with you! We've been so loved and supported by the people around us while we've been together. We cannot wait to not only celebrate with you, but to also thank you for helping us get to this special day!!!
