Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Amy Purello and Rey Ulibarri
We know some of you may be here longer than just the wedding weekend. While in the Washington DC area, we've listed a few recommendations below for places to see and things to do...
Old Town Alexandria

Old Town Alexandria

Old Town Alexandria is special to us because it's where we met and got engaged! There are so many things to do here from bars and restaurants to boutique shopping and touring historic sites. You can also drive just a few minutes away to visit George Washington's home, Mount Vernon. Click on the link to learn more!

Monuments and Smithsonian Museums

Monuments and Smithsonian Museums

You have to see it at least once! Metro into D.C. and see the historic monuments and Smithsonian Museums in our Nation's Capital. Most of these activities are free and kid-friendly. The weather this time of year is typically great for walking around the National Mall or up to the Lincoln Memorial. You can even grab an electric scooter or a bike to get around faster!

Kayaking on the Occoquan

Kayaking on the Occoquan

We love kayaking on the Occoquan river. In late April, it probably will still be too cold to go swimming, but if you enjoy getting out on the water, this is a great way to do it! The Occoquan town itself is really charming and friendly. This is a bit more of a pricey area, but definitely worth visiting to take a look around and grab some ice cream.

Walk or Bike the Mount Vernon Trail

Walk or Bike the Mount Vernon Trail

There are lots of great trails that you can walk or bike in the D.C. area. The Mount Vernon Trail is great in that it gives you views of the monuments, and it's beginner-friendly!
