How We Met

4.6.2018

We met on the dating app, Bumble, and connected over our mutual love for good, black coffee. After a few delays, we got together for dinner. Megan was prompt (early), Amir was casually late but had the foresight to make a reservation. Dinner went great and we braved the April snow showers to grab drinks afterwards at a local pub where we talked and danced until the late hours. We shared a connection that felt different, and the next night we spent over an hour on the phone with each other. The weeks and months that followed were filled with getting to know each other better over pizza nights, hikes, and beers and learning that we each had found the one.

The Proposal

11.9.2019

We decided to do a fun getaway weekend in Ann Arbor, home of Megan's alma mater, University of Michigan. It was a leisurely vacation, with not too much planned, other than Megan attempting to convince Amir to switch allegiance from the Boilermakers (this was not successful). Amir had secretly reserved the University of Michigan's Botanical Gardens Conservatory after hours to propose to Megan. After suspiciously arriving at the conservatory minutes before closing due to a miscalculation in travel time, Megan was further confused as Amir rushed through the entire space, circling back several times (looking for the "perfect" spot to propose, she later found out). Eventually, Amir dropped to one knee in front of the bonsai trees and popped the question. Megan, although suspicious that something was up throughout the day, was still surprised and delighted when the moment came and said yes!
