Harrison and Amery met in the June of 2017. A month earlier, Harrison was at an engagement party and met one of Amery's friends, Sam Baker. Sam and Harrison got to talking and her friend Amery came up in conversation. She kept saying how bubbly she was, and how good of a friend Amery is to her and thought they would both be good candidates for a setup. The following weekend, the setting was perfect. It was Old Town Art Fair and Harrison was hanging out with Sam's now fiance, Patrick, and the plan was for them to meet at Happy Camper. Amery was in the back bar and Harrison walked up to her and offered to buy her a drink. The two hit it off instantly and Harrison asked for her number. Amery of course had to leave shortly after that to go to yet another party and as hard as Harrison tried, he couldn't wait until the morning to text her immediately. He asked her out for drinks for the next week and the rest, as they say, is history.

Harrison had pretty much known since their second date that Amery was the one for him. He knew that he wanted to make their engagement as special as he could, and Harrison knowing Amery, knew that Amery wanted to be surrounded by family to celebrate them. He wanted to plan a big Christmas celebration with both the Pinkus and Stafford family, but that meant a lot of planning. Harrison asked Rob and Lisa's permission and floated the idea of them all going to North Carolina for Christmas and the Staffords were thrilled to celebrate the two family's coming together. A few nights before the engagement, Harrison told Amery he wanted to take her to dinner for Date Night. The plan was for them to go to dinner and meet Amery's sister Addy and her boyfriend for a nightcap. As they got in the Uber for dinner, and Harrison checking his left coat pocket every 2 minutes, he was obvioulsy rattled. He was visibly nervous, so much that Amery had to ask him three or four times at dinner if he was OK. As they got through the meal, the stage was set. Harrison and Amery got dropped off near a local restaurant Trivoli Tavern and walked through a cobblestone walkway to get to there. Harrison put down their bag of leftovers and Amery looked at him like he was crazy saying "What're you doing? I was going to eat that for lunch tomorrow!" He got down on one knee, and honestly can't really remember what he said, but got the words out "will you marry me?" Thankfully, she said yes and they then got a round of applause from a group of people watching them through the neighboring bar window. The two walked back to their apartment and were met with Amery's parents, her sister, and best friend Clare McCabe. Harrison and Amery are so excited for their marriage and are looking forward to celebrating with all of you!
