Amelia and Ethan began their freshmen year at Tulane University in New Orleans in 2012. Though they ran in similar circles of friends, they did not officially meet until May 2013. Amelia was in need of a date to Sigma Delta Tau formal. Her friend suggested she ask Ethan because many of his friends were already attending the event. Amelia was not picky and agreed. She popped her head into Ethan's dorm room where he was playing FIFA with his roommate. She said, "Ethan, want to go to formal?" He looked up briefly, smiled, and responded "Sure!" The pair quickly learned they had a ton in common. Both grew up in loving homes with caring parents, two siblings (Amelia and Ethan are both middle children), pets, and Jewish values. They both attended Jewish Day School and Camp Ramah (Ethan at Ramah Darom and Amelia at Ramah Nyack). They shared similar interests in travel, outdoors adventures, food (eating and cooking), and sports, as well as similar tastes in books, movies, and music. They quickly began dating and have been together ever since. After three years together in New Orleans, they did one year of long distance while Ethan was getting his Masters Degree at Tulane and Amelia was traveling working for SDT. In 2017, Ethan moved to New York and the couple settled in Astoria, the neighborhood they now call home.
