Amber and Ryan met twice, and both times were at the VU(now known as 8th and Rail). The first time they met, Amber went to see a friends band with her friends( bridesmaids now), Megan, Alex, Denise and Yesel. While they were sitting at the bar waiting for the band to go on, this handsome man with a very defined mustache came up to Amber and started chatting with her. He brought up how he and the bartender were brothers because they both had red hair. As soon as the band went on, Amber and her friends left the bar and the mustache man disappeared. Several months later, on Saint Patrick’s day, Amber went to the VU again with her friends Hannah and Denise to see another friends band play. At the time the mustache man (Ryan) was DJing and he opened for the band. At the end of the show Amber and her friends went outside to the patio, and Ryan approached her and sat down next to Amber. Amber did not recognize him at first, because he had recently lost weight and his mustache was gone, but there was something about him, that seemed to intrigue her, besides his looks. He didnt leave her side for the whole night and spent the rest of the night talking to her. It was not until the end of the night, when his bartender friend (Danny), came up to him and said, “Hey you’re talking to my brother, we both have red hair”, that amber realized she was talking to the mustache man. Ryan and Amber were inseparable ever since.
Amber and Ryan were on the way to Big Bear to go snowboarding and camping for the weekend. On the way to the mountian, Ryan said he wanted to stop at the lake, since they never checked it out before. Ryan pulled his car over and parked at a park along the lake. They got out of the car and walked along a secluded trail by the lake. When the trail ended, Amber turned around to face Ryan and that’s when he gave her a kiss and told her, he loved her. He then got down on one knee and said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and asked her to marry him!
The pandemic hit two and half months prior to our original wedding date. At the time it hit, we had just finished booking the final wedding vendors and we were getting excited to finally have our dream wedding come to life. The decision to postpone the first time was an extremely difficult decision to make as we were flooded by such different opinions on what the right choice to make was. It took us a whole month to figure out what to do, but eventually decided to post pone the wedding by six months to December 5th, 2020. We both wanted to get married so badly, that any longer than 6 months seemed just too long...and we wishfully thought the pandemic would be over by then. Little did we know, the pandemic would still be thriving and we would have to post pone the wedding for a second time. This time around, things are starting to finally get better, and it seems as if third times a charm! Well, during this past year and a half a lot has happened. March and April of 2020 were a really difficult time for us, as I am sure it was for most people. In July, Ryan's band, Cannons were signed to Columbia and things were starting to get better for us. In August, right after we postponed for the second time, we started the process of buying Amber's paternal grandma's house. Two months later, we moved out of our Valley Village apartment and into our first house together. Banjo, our dog is very happy and is loving being a house dog now. We are now in the process of renovating the 50 year old house and turning the house into our dream home.
