Amber and Greg first met while serving in the choir at Valley Baptist Church. Amber was only 14 years old at the time, but she knew that she was going to marry that cute ginger man. Greg was absolutely clueless. Fast forward in time, Amber is now a young adult at age 21. She just so happened to go to a Sunday evening service in February, when she laid eyes on Greg with one of his friends. After the service, they had a brief conversation that ended in Greg asking Amber out on a date. Shortly after their first date, on February 18, 2018, Greg asked Amber to be his girlfriend, to which she happily agreed. After nearly a year of dating, Greg finally figured out that he needed to marry this young lady. He planned to propose on their anniversary of being in a relationship. Greg bought a ring and even asked her parents’ blessing. Amber wanted to know what was going on, and was a bit frustrated that neither Greg or her parents would tell her about Greg’s “secret.” On February 18, 2019, Greg and Amber recreated their first date, with the addition of frozen yogurt, one of Amber’s favorite treats. They went to Amber’s special spot, a place she likes to go to look out at the city from afar to think and pray. Greg asked Amber to exit the vehicle so that he could give her her anniversary gift. She was relunctant, as it was cold outside and wanted to stay in her burrito that she made of her blanket, but she agreed. Greg said some emotional poem that he made up on the spot, and got down on one knee. Amber was confused, as she asked why Greg was down there, the ground was dirty. Greg proposed marriage twice, as Amber was somewhat dumbfounded the first time. After some screaming, crying, and more screaming and crying, Amber said yes!
