I moved to Maryland to take a COVID Crisis Response Nursing assignment. George and I met on an online dating site. I thought he was handsome and he looked like a man with a good head on his shoulders. We were matched! We chatted online for a few weeks and then we went out on our first date which was in Clinton, MD. I wanted to meet up in Clinton because I heard it was a good area. I drove from Gaithersburg, MD to Clinton, MD to meet George the first time. The first time I saw him in person I thought he was so handsome and he was respectable. He held open doors and he even attempted to hold my hand and "guide" me into doors. COVID restrictions were still at an all time high here in Maryland when we first met. Our first date was at a hibachi restaurant. We thought we would have more time to talk over our first date but, this was the fastest hibachi restaurant ever. We were in and out in 30 minutes. After dinner we stayed outside of the restaurant and chatted for a while. In the following weeks we continued to go out and discovered our favorite restaurant which is Moon Rabbit in DC. I began to like George. We started dating officially in April. George popped the question on Christmas Day at my aunt and uncle's house 8 months after we began dating. We drove up from Maryland for the holidays and I was rushing to get to my aunt's because we were getting there late. I was caught off-guard with the proposal lol. I saw George whispering something to my mom and I started to get really nervous. I kind of knew something was up. George asked me to take a picture by the Christmas tree. At this point my aunt and uncle came out. My mom then said "I think there's another gift under the tree!". Then George kneeled down and asked for my hand in marriage 👰🏾‍♀️💍. The rest is history. George and I are a lot alike. We think the same and always know what the other is thinking 💭 🤔 which is kind of scary. I prayed for a man like George. I used to tell God that "I know I'm not a unicorn. There has to be a man out there for me that will understand me". Then, I met the male version of myself. I met a more calm and emphatic version of myself. I met someone who is my knight in shining armor. I prayed for George and I tell him "Our marriage will break curses!". We are blessed to have found unconditional love. We are ready to spend our entire lives together and we're glad that that you all will spending this time with us.
