Chris and Amber met during their college orientation at SUNY Oneonta. Amber was assigned to an orientation group with Chris' friends from high school which is how they ended up sitting next to each other at the dining hall. After lunch, the two walked together to Littell Hall and got to know each other. They exchanged numbers and went their separate ways. They texted for about two weeks before Chris' phone broke and he lost her number. Chris and Amber wouldn't talk for the rest of the summer. Until Freshman year started and Chris saw Amber sitting with her friend one day in front of the Human Ecology building. He realized who it was and turned around to ask for her number again. The rest is history.

After seeing Hadestown on Broadway, Chris told me we were going to "dinner" in Hunters Point in Long Island City with a quick stop at the pier. While looking at the view of Manhattan, I turned around and Chris was down on one knee. I said "YES". But that wasn't the last of Chris' surprises. When we returned to our apartment, the lights turned on and both of our families, who were waiting inside, yelled "Congratulations!" I was shocked and so happy to have celebrated this special moment with them. And we're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with all of you. See you in May!
