Things To Do

There is so much to do and see in Austin and the surrounding Texas Hill Country. We recommend seeing what you can on this trip but coming back and visiting us at another time so we can really show you around! We love having guests at our house :)

The Salt Lick, BBQ

18300 Farm to Market Rd, Driftwood, TX 78619

I mean, if you want the real Texas BBQ experience there is nothing better than the Salt Lick! Bring your own cooler of beer and enjoy the best bbq around! We recommend the brisket (burnt ends) and sausage plate!

Torchys Tacos

1822 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704
, (512) 916-9025

If you want iconic tacos in Austin, Torchy's is it!

Lady Bird Lake

Austin, TX

Take a beautiful stroll along the Colorado River (not that one, lol)! On-the-river activities are a big thing in Austin. So, look around for stand up paddle board, canoe, or kayak rentals :)

South Congress Avenue

South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX

If you want to get a sense of Austin, South Congress is the place to be! Cool/weird shops, lots of great people watching, and delicious food!

Zilker Park

2207 Lou Neff Road, Austin, TX 78746
, (512) 974-6700

This is Austin's main park! Great spot to go for a walk/run. Or just lay out on the lawn and enjoy the city skyline. There is much to do in and around Zilker. Look through their website to see if something catches your eye!

Barton Springs Pool

2201 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704
, (512) 974-6300

Looking for a unique place to cool down from the TX sun? Barton Springs Pool is a historic Austin spot. The water comes from a natural spring and remains about 68 degrees all year round! There are lifegaurds, diving board, grassy spots to layout. Trust us, this place is kinda magical :)

McKinney Falls State Park

5808 McKinney Falls Parkway, Austin, TX 78744
, (512) 243-1643

Austin's "backyard"!! This amazing State Park has a lot to offer. Our dogs enjoyed it as much as we did, although Buckley did almost go over the falls... small rescue mission was needed, lol. Camping, bouldering, hiking, swimming... McKinney has it all. Just be sure to make a reservation a bit ahead of time.

Fredericksburg TX

Fredericksburg, TX

A super cute small town America place with a thriving Main Street. Tons of great food, wine tasting, antiques shops, etc.. It's about a 90 min drive, but well worth it if you'll have a day free.

Austin's MLS Soccer Team

10414 Mc Kalla Place, Austin, TX 78758

Austin has a pro soccer team and looks like they have a home game on Sunday the 26th!

Greetings From Austin Mural

1720 South 1st Street, Austin, TX 78704
, (512) 442-6366

Austin is known for it's quirky vibe and amazing art/music scene! Murals are a very encouraged thing here and you will see many beautiful ones all over the city. If you are looking for the perfect instagram photo op though, the Greetings From Austin Mural is the one!

For all the days along the way
