Xavier does not forget that there were a couple of attempts made before Amanda would talk to him. The two strangers had a few phone conversations. They agreed to a first date in person of brunch on 04.23.2022 at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery located in the Houston Heights. He was already at the restaurant when Amanda arrived and told the hostess, "I'm here for a date." Amanda saw Xavier stand up from the table and she told the hostess "That's him." He introduced himself and she politely did the same. She sat on the booth side, and he sat in the chair. The two talked while they ordered mimosas and food. Amanda was so nervous she could hardly look up at him. Meanwhile Xavier thought she might not be enjoying the scrambled eggs or pancakes. Jokes were exchanged and he paid the bill. When asked how he feels about this so far Xavier remarked, "I think this will be a great investment." The two decided to take a walk around the block during which he made sure to mention he does not enjoy hiking as a hobby. It was during this walk that Xavier was allowed to see Amanda's personality glow. Retrospectively, He says that it was then and there that the man knew this relationship was going to work. Discussions of shared interests including travel, health, faith, and family commitment layered the conversation. One stranger saw the two during this promenade and remarked, "You two look really good together." Xavier then escorted Amanda back to her car after the first date.

What started out as a date turned out to be one of the greatest moments of my life. The whole week was planned for us to have a simple date night, in which, we needed due to our busy schedules. He had the date set up for 7:00 o clock, little did I know, his family and friends were working hard behind the scene(thanks to everyone btw). Around 6:30, he’s rushing me out the door, steadily checking his phone. He also started taking detours, claiming he wanted to wash the car and clean the insides before our date. His excuse for our delay was that we were waiting on his friend to bring tickets to a show playing that evening. While waiting, we stopped by the place were he first asked me to be his girlfriend. The night was beautiful, as we walked the Tiffany & Co. bridge, near the water fountain reminiscing on moments we shared as our first night officially being a couple. As we walked towards the end, I see a light glowing against the wall, reading, MARRY ME, illuminated in bold letters. Music starts to play(All of me by John Legend, never forget that lol) and I turn around to him bent on one knee. Speechless as he starts to speak and I feel the tears running down my cheek, a crowd begins to appear…all of his family and friends and my parents are there as he asks, “Amanda will you marry me?” …yeeessss!!!, and the rest is history. 🥹💗 #FiancéeToFranklin23
