We met at Marcinski Park as a complete work of fate. I was convinced I would never meet anyone because I did not want to meet anyone at work, online, or at a bar. One beautiful Sunday, my work hosted a beach workout and bbq where Spencer happened to be playing volleyball with a group of his friends. Spencer snuck up behind me while I was talking with some friends and asked if I wanted to play volleyball with them (little did he know the sport has been a long time passion of mine). We had an awesome time and played most of the day, finishing up with lunch at Thirsty Turtle. From here we exchanged numbers and I honestly thought, "Cool, I have some new friends now!" Little did I know, I had just met the love of my life.
Spencer began planning a proposal in June 2021, and I was completely clueless. He even spent an entire day out with his mom ring shopping and I totally believed the story he fed me when he got home about what they did all day. Spencer got all of our close friends involved and set up Katie and I to have a girls day and him and Arlan to have a guys day before meeting up for dinner later that evening. Katie thought it would be a great idea to do a beach walk and chat (something we did often) before dinner. Little to my surprise, at the top of the beach stairs was Spencer waiting with friends and family to ask me to be his wife. A day I will never forget.
