October 10, 2022 was a big day for Sam. He was starting his first day at a new job. He had a first date that night, which he was looking forward to but admittedly was uncertain how it could go. Dating in NYC can be quite difficult, and Sam knew that firsthand as a serial dater, often going on 3-4 first dates a week. He had his fair share of crazy, bizarre, and "this can't possibly be happening, am I being pranked" dates, but more often than not they were uneventful. He had no idea that he was meeting his person that night, immediately making the new job seem like an afterthought. Sam made such a good first impression that night that Amanda continued their first date by bringing him to her favorite gelato shop. Sam knew Amanda was different. She was funny, thoughtful, bubbly, beautiful, and like Sam didn't play games. He told Amanda after three dates that he wanted to be exclusive, they became "official" in under a month, and said "I love you" in under 3 months. Amanda was somewhat surprised by Sam's early and bold moves, but she admired his dedication and open feelings. When you know, you know! Jobs come and go, and both Sam and Amanda will have more "first days at a new job". But now that they've found each other, their first date days are over, as they've both found their person in each other.
