Nicholas and I owe our sons (Nicholas & Christian) all the credit, their love for baseball is how we met. Although neither of us knew it, almost one year later our love journey would start. In January 2022, baseball took us to Phoenix, Arizona. With both of our boys pitchers, of course conversation would happen. Christian was having a tough time on the mound and Nick was pumping him up. We had a brief conversation about pitching and that was it. We were Facebook friends, but didn’t really speak. Fast forward to January 2023, me going through a tough time in my life, Nick sent me a message on Facebook. We ended up going to dinner on Feb 10th, due to us having a bet, I lost. We decided to meet in Davis at Mikuni for dinner. Me being the scary person I am, I asked if my best friend Jessica and her boyfriend could tag along. I would have never thought that night would start the best part of my life besides having my boys. We immediately became inseparable. In March I lost my oldest son. At a time when I didn’t know what was what, I was heartbroken and shattered. Nick stood by me, day by day and minute by minute. I don’t know how I would have gotten through without him. He gave me life again. For the first time, I felt whole again. I had finally met my best friend, my lover. In June, we planned to go to Vegas for my birthday. We had the best three days, just us, making memories, laughing and being us. We came home on my birthday, we were going to have a bbq. I was at my house and would meet Nick. Little did I know, Nick had planned a surprise party for me with my family and friends. I was shocked which was very hard to do, lol. It came time to do cake and we did it outside with everyone. After everyone sang, I turned around and Nick was on one knee asking me to marry him. I was happily shocked. He really shocked me. Of course I said yes!!!!! Now here we are planning to get married…..
