It's no secret that 2020 had it's number of challenges and a great deal of uncertainty in what the future looks like. Due to the continued uncertainty of 2021 and a gut-wrenching diagnosis within the Williams Family, we have shifted our wedding plans closer to home. It all started back in college at Millikin University (Decatur, Illinois). Amanda had seen Michael around campus, but never had the right time to talk to him until 4/20/13. Amanda and her friends went out to celebrate her birthday and ended up at the same party as Michael - after a quick introduction, the two talked a majority of the night! It was only a few awkward Facebook messages later until they exchanged numbers and went out on their first date. The rest is history!

Michael's proposal was out of a dream. The two have a tradition that every year around Amanda's birthday, they spend a day at the zoo. This year's zoo trip started no differently, but ended better than all the trips before. After a perfect (but a little chilly) walk around Lincoln Park Zoo, the two headed up to the bridge over South Pond where Michael got down on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him. She said yes! Michael had a whole night planned ahead for the two of them to celebrate which added to the perfect night. After the proposal, they headed to a romantic dinner followed by heading home to an apartment full of candles, rose petals, bouquets, and champagne.
