The couple met at Evansville's fanciest establishment, Corner Bar. At the time Amanda worked with one of Martin's close friends, Garrett. Garrett invited Amanda to met him and his friends at Corner Bar to play shuffle board. Martin was one of the friends at Corner Bar. After a night of hanging out and some famous Slim Jims, everyone went home and not even an hour later, Martin asked Garrett for Amanda's number. They texted for awhile and Amanda blew him off a few times when he asked her to hangout. She finally hung out with him about 2 weeks later and they have been pretty inseparable ever since.

Amanda's dad and stepmom, Jennifer asked if they could take the couple out to dinner for Martin's birthday because they were going to be out of town for his actual birthday. It was also Amanda and Martin's 4 year anniversary of officially dating. They went to Pangea in Evansville, IN. Amanda and Jennifer both ordered the same cocktails and Jennifer's tasted way different than Amanda's... in a bad way. So they asked for a new drink.. In the meantime, Martin had walked to the bathroom with the bartender? Amanda doesn't normally question these things because Martin knows/talks to everyone. After dinner, the bartender hands Amanda a small bag and said the dessert was on him due to the cocktail mix up. She tried to hand the bag to Jennifer (because her drink was the one messed up) and Martin said no you open it. Amanda opened and said it is a macaroon and some kind of box? Then she realized Martin was on one knee and the box was the ring. :)
