By some magical twist of fate or perhaps just pure coincidence, Amanda who is originally from Beaver Dam, WI and applied and auditioned to over 13 musical theatre programs at different universities, and Doni who is originally from Adelaide, SA and decided to do a semester abroad collided in the halls of the Performing Arts Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato right outside of room 113. Okay, so their first encounter wasn't THAT romantic. Doni was actually talking to one of Amanda's friends and Amanda went up to her friend to ask a question and then quickly introduced herself to Doni as an afterthought before dashing off to her next class. But there was something about him that Amanda just couldn't seem to shake. Was it the accent? Who can say? (It was the accent.) Either way, she developed a crush which eventually became a mutual crush which eventually became a fling. When Doni had to go back to Australia after that semester ended, Amanda was sad but she had a gut feeling that their time together had only just begun. As per usual, Amanda was right. The next fall, Doni returned to Mankato to get his MFA in acting. After about a semester of some serious flirtation, they were finally an official couple! Since then, their relationship has grown through vacations taken with family, supporting one another's creative endeavors, celebrating each others victories, supporting each other in times of grief and sadness, a few stints of long-distance relationshiping, moving in to their first apartment together, adopting their sweet pup Cece, surviving a pandemic in a one-bedroom apartment, and then buying their first home! They are so excited to take this next step into their future together and they can't wait to celebrate their love with all of you!
Anthony, aka Andoni, aka Doni, aka Marinos grew up in Adelaide, South Australia surrounded by his big loving Cypriot family. He's loved sports his whole life, especially his favorite soccer team, Manchester United. His love of theatre came later in life, much to his surprise! Also known as the human garbage disposal, his other loves include food, family, and more food. Amanda grew up in Beaver Dam, WI and unlike Doni found a love and passion for theatre at a very young age. She spent her whole childhood dreaming of living in a city and is now happily living that dream in Minneapolis. In addition to theatre, Amanda is also passionate about coffee, dogs, reading, the color pink, and the greatest film ever made, The Wizard of Oz. As a couple, Amanda and Doni believe that love is love, that Black lives matter, that trans women are women, trans men are men, and that non-binary people are who they say they are. They believe the arts are a vital part of life and that immigrants make communities stronger. They look forward to a beautiful wedding day full of love where every person feels welcome to come as they are and dance the night away!
