Question

What is the Dress Code?

Answer

Semi-formal/Formal. Suits, gowns and cocktail dresses encouraged. Check out this Pinterest board for inspiration: https://pin.it/4azDPvY4b The wedding will be outdoors on the beach and grass so wear appropriate shoes. Ladies I' leave the stilettos behind; block heels, wedges etc. Men no shorts and long sleeves/jackets are preferred.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately space is limited for the ceremony and reception but if you would like for a guest to join you for the trip to Jamaica otherwise, they are more than welcome to! They can even join you on the tour if you sign up for it.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately no. The ceremony and reception are adults only.

Question

If you're not staying at Ocean Coral Spring or Ocean Eden Bay

Answer

If you're not staying at Ocean Coral Spring or Ocean Eden Bay you will have to purchase a day pass upon arrival to the resort. A list of names for expected weddings guests will be given to the front desk. Double check with Amanda that your name is on the list.

Question

Transportation in Jamaica

Answer

Here is our recommended transportation company that is trustworthy. Reach out to them and say you're part of the Chin Yee/Mason wedding group. If you'd like to go shopping, airport transfers or see any specific sites they'll help you out. CEO: Andrew Chandon Company: Channy's Tours Whatsapp: 1-876-508-3288 / 1-876-532-1150

Question

Money in Jamaica?

Answer

We highly recommend you bring cash with you and exchange it in the airport upon arrival. The exchange rate in Jamaica is $1 USD = $151 JMD. A customary tip can be somewhere from $300-1000. Tipping in USD is fine too but you won't get change. Places you usually tip: On tours, sit down restaurants, hotel staff. Be very careful about which ATM you utilize if you decide to go that route.

Question

Is Jamaica safe?

Answer

Like every country there's crime but once you're not waving around cash and wearing a lot of flashy things to attract negative attention, Jamaica is a warm and lovely place filled with loads of culture.

Question

Recommended Packing List

Answer

Cash (Exchange for Jamaican dollars in airport) Sunscreen, Bug Spray, Water Shoes, Medication

Question

Bar culture in Jamaica

Answer

When you go to the bar you can order a cocktail or beer but you're also able to order bigger bottles especially if it's a group of you and you're sharing. A cue or flask is typical and you'll order full sized sodas/juices (chasers).
