Marriage has a nice ring to it. We can't wait to celebrate ours with you.
We met the summer of 2020. Our first date was on the rooftop of a neighborhood spot in Denver, close to our current home in Wash Park. Things moved quickly considering the state of the world, and we spent a lot of time together. There were plenty of park dates, orders of Walter's "Popeye" pizza, marathons of Netflix and Bravo, and of course, cheering on the Chiefs. Scott's dog, a Red Heeler named Starfox, went missing the fall of 2020. He roamed the greater Denver area for ~3 weeks before he was found. It was tough on both of us, but he ultimately brought us closer together. The next few months we spent exploring, traveling and getting to know each other better. We went mountain biking in Moab, climbed our first 14er and then spent a long, chilly weekend in Ouray and Telluride. To finish out the year, we spent our first Thanksgiving together skiing in Vail, just us two. The rest is history in the making.
Scott proposed to Alyssa the evening of August 27, 2022 at Sushi Den, a Platt Park restaurant close to our home in Denver. Scott completely(!) surprised her afterward with a backyard party at home with family and friends.
We love living in Colorado with our three pets (our dog, Starfox, and our two cats, Storm and Fernando). We're grateful for our Kansas City and Colorado families, and of course, our friends and family all over the country. We can't wait to celebrate with you this year!
Alyssa's first gift to Scott was a Crosley vinyl record player. The two of us love music, and if you'd like to set the mood for this site, we'd recommend those songs in the 'Home' sidebar and a few more of our favorites: "Stay Young Go Dancing" by Death Cab for Cutie, "Archie, Marry Me," by Alvvays, "Keep on Loving You," by REO Speedwagon, "Marry Me" by Thomas Rhett and "Our House" by CSNY.
