Dear Family & Friends, It is with a heavy heart that we must announce last minute changes for our upcoming wedding on the 29th of May. Due to COVID-19 we will be forced to have a small and intimate ceremony instead of the large celebration we had been hoping for. We are sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused. We are hoping to gather and celebrate with everyone later in the year, pandemic permitting. We are staying positive during this time and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We hope you are all safe and we pray we will be able to see you all soon! Love, Sam & Alyssa
It all started at Parkcrest Middle School back in 2005. We would see each other in the hallways, Sam would sometimes say hi to me, but I was too shy to say hi back. We reconnected summer of 2011 and hung out just about everyday with the same group of friends. That summer we became close friends and I had the BIGGEST crush on Sam! At the end of the summer, come to find out, the feelings weren't mutual. We went our separate ways to finish college, I lived in San Antonio and he lived in Lubbock. When I moved back to Austin in 2016, Sam had reached out to me a few times to hang out and catch up. Several dinners & lunches later, Sam took me to the movies to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2. On the ride home after the movie, Sam confessed that he had feelings for me and my response was "YOU LIKE ME?!". He asked to take me out on an "official" date...AND THE REST IS HISTORY!
My sweet friend Amanda invited me to girls night on a Friday night. Without hesitation I asked to get off early to make this happen! I thought it would also be a good idea to take a half day to take Appa (our Chocolate Lab) to the vet before Girls Night. Sam tricked me and took Appa to the vet Friday morning because apparently the vet called him and said they had to move his appointment up! So after I worked the morning, Amanda and I got ready for girls night and we met up with Devon & Lindsey. Let me just say, I WAS STOKED FOR GIRLS NIGHT and for all the wine! We arrived at The Vineyard at Florence, grabbed our wine, sat outside on the patio at about sunset time. We were going to take pictures, but the girls got quiet...I was so confused... I look behind me, and there is Sam walking through a field towards me, dressed super handsome! And that's when I knew what was really happening. My heart dropped, I was blushing, he grabbed me by the hand and took me on a walk. We stopped at this pergola over looking the vineyard, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his Wife!! Friends & family flew in from out of town & we partied all night long. It really was the best day ever (minus our wedding day)!
