How We Met. It was a cold December morning and we were both standing in line at Starbucks. Of course we are the only ones still ordering Iced coffees regardless of the freezing temperatures outside. He grabs my drink by accident, and takes a sip instantly and leaves in ignorance. I looked at him in frustration because I was already late for work. A week goes by and here we both are again. As I was waiting in line to order they called my name saying my drink was ready. He had told me he had come to that starbucks every morning at the same time waiting for me to come back in hopes to make it up to me. Luckily we both had extra time and spent the next hour falling in love. Just kidding, we met on a dating app called Bumble but that story sounds a lot better!

In early August I told Alyssa not to make plans on August 27th because we all know she is the queen of a busy schedule. I told her we were going to a Loons game and having drinks with my co-workers beforehand. When Nick told me about these plans I instantly asked him if I should go buy a MN Loons shirt and he said no, just wear something cute. That was the first red flag that went off because when has any man said the word cute... I was planning on taking Alyssa on a helicopter ride that evening, and asking her to become my wife. It was brought to my attention by her friends that she had been suspicious. Apparently I never checked what time the game actually started, she had to be nosey and saw it was at 2:00 pm instead of 7:00pm. So of course she was telling anyone and everyone who would listen that she was getting engaged. Two days before the "Soccer Game" I got a text from Nick saying he mixed up the dates of the game and it wasn't until the middle of September. Obviously I believed him because of course there is a reason why us women make all the plans! I scrambled trying to come up with a new plan so I didn't have to keep hiding this ring. The following weekend I was able to use my birthday as a decoy. Luckily Alyssa had already made dinner reservations, and to my advantage I ran with that. I had booked a hotel room and with her friends help I was able to pull off the ultimate surprise. As Nick and I were finishing up dinner and ready to pay the bill, he looks at me and his face is in pure panic. He says to me, um I need to go to the bathroom. "Ok?" I responded and he proceeds to tell me its an emergency and he needs me to meet him at the room. This didn't come shocking to me as its Nick lol. I finish my drink and eventually make my way up the room and I walk into a path of rose petals with little tea lights everywhere and a lit up sign that says Marry Me. This is when I blacked out so its a little fuzzy. There he was in the middle of rose petals in the shape of a heart down on one knee. The easiest yes of my life.
