Lucas first caught sight of Alyssa on Bumble (a dating app), he swiped right to try and get her attention. Alyssa saw this and looked through his profile and thought to herself, "Wow, this is just another guy that likes to take pictures with fish". 24 hours later, Lucas was still awaiting a response from Alyssa. Lucas soon learned that he wasn't going to catch Alyssa's attention on Bumble...so he turned to Hinge (yet another dating app). One week later, Lucas saw Alyssa's profile pop up on Hinge and swiped right immediately. One pickup line led to another and before the each of them knew it, the first date was planned.

After making it through our first deployment together, we planned a golf trip to Hilton Head Island, SC. As the weekend approached, so did Hurricane Nicole. We were about to cancel the entire trip, but last minute decided to book a golf trip at SanDestin Resort in Destin, FL. After 36 holes of golf and good seafood, we made our way towards the marina. We climbed up three stories to a favorite outlook. We set our drinks down, looked out at the ocean and Lucas got down on one knee. It has been nothing but bliss since that day. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Green Bay!
