Ivan and I had been talking through text for a couple days, when he asked me out to axe throwing and dinner. I had no idea what to expect and was quite nervous at first. He told me he was outside, but he was nowhere to be found, so I called him. After he was finally able to find my apartment, we were on our way. He began by opening the door of his red Ford Ranger, which was only the beginning to all the little gestures that he still continues to this day. I guess chivalry isn't dead ;) Axe throwing was a success, for me, not so much for him. Let’s just say the score was pretty one sided... Then we headed to our dinner at La Mesa on Brady Street where we ate empanadas and talked for two hours about topics that you probably shouldn't talk about on the first date, but that didn't scare him away. After our dinner was done, Ivan drove me home and dropped me off without a hug, kiss, or handshake goodbye. He was a true gentleman. When I entered into my apartment, I couldn't get the smile off my face. Zach made a couple comments of how happy I looked and said "you look like you had a good time." I waited a whole day to text Ivan back, and when I finally did we began writing our story together. One that we will continue to write forever and ever.
