Brides Point Of View: Four years ago, my Best friend had the greatest idea of inviting friends over her house so we could camp in her backyard. Little did I know the second I arrived, this energetic curly hair guy stood out to me. I mean, he had the nicest hair! That guy's name was Ben and the whole weekend consisted of him and I playing pranks on each other. We reached the end of the weekend and I thought nothing about it. “Me date this Miami guy, there was no way!” Months later My best friend invites me to go camping once again, but to a yearly tradition this guy would do every year. That guy was ben and guess who texted me to invite me as well? The guy with curly hair. He mentioned how happy he would be if I would go, so I went with both of my friends. Little did I know that would turn into Ben telling me he liked me! Fast-forward to now, 4 years of long-distance, Expensive flights, short weekends, hour long phone calls, traveling, and the best laughs. But the best memories were made in both Tampa & Miami, and we wouldn’t have traded it for anything else.
Grooms Point Of View: It took me 6-7 months to plan out the proposal. I bought the ring back in November of 2019. And i finally popped the question in June 2020. The hardest part of the proposal was asking her dad for permission! I texted her sister, Jenny, like 5 different scenarios of how maybe i can propose to her and she was like "They all sound great. Have you asked my dad yet?". I told her "I'm working on it". I could never find the opportunity to talk to him about something serious like that! So i kept on stalling the proposal longer and longer until finally i had an opportunity on his farm, just me and him working together. I had finally asked him for his permission and i was practically shaking, but relieved! I was so nervous, he misunderstood me and said "Ok. lets do it this weekend!" My heart dropped and i was like " WAIT! Let me plan something out first! ONE THING AT A TIME!". He almost gave me a heart attack. Anyway. finally, after lots of planning around Florida weather AND the beautiful Covid 19, we gathered over 20 family and friends on this occasion. The week i was going to propose, i couldnt breathe. I couldnt stand still. i couldnt sleep. I couldnt do anything normal. The day of, I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. We had planned the engagement on the beach. Of course, it rained harder than I had ever seen before, but we planned for that and we had a little spot inside. As we were driving to the beach, my hands sweating, i couldnt even breathe and now we finally arrive. Ohh god. Valet takes our car. There was no backing out now without my car lol I walked around the hotel with her while the family was hiding and getting ready to take pictures. I had planned out this whole thing to say, but coudnt get anything to sound right! i didnt want my nervousness to give it away so whats the next thing i did? I just walked her to the area while covering her eyes. I let the balloons tell her what i had such a hard time telling her. Marry me!
