We met in college at a Whataburger close to campus. Amber saw me and invited me to sit at her table. We knew each other from a student organization we joined but we had never spoken to each other. Amber received her food but I was too shy to ask the employees why my order was taking so long. Amber in one motion got up and took my receipt to the cashier. As Amber walked back to the table a very apologetic employee was behind her with my order. She truly has had my back since the beginning.
David and I went on a two week road trip stopping first at Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, then our final destination Banff National Park in Alberta Canada! On the day of the proposal, we decided to take a hike up to The Big Beehive and Devils Thumb (hikes we had been planning for months). The Big Beehive had the best view of Lake Louise, and just when you think it can’t get more beautiful, Devils Thumb proved us wrong. It truly was challenging all the way up. Several times I thought about quitting because we were on the side of a mountain half the time (quite literally, sorry mom). But David was very encouraging and helped until we made it to the top. Once we got there, all the crowds cleared out after about five minutes. We had the summit all to ourselves for about 15-20 minutes, which is rare for a hike this amazing. So as I was taking pictures of the view, little did I know David was getting ready to take pictures of our forever. We were taking a picture when David got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever adventure partner. Of course, I said YES! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Colorado!
