We met at an ultimate frisbee tournament in Advance, NC only 4 months after McKenna moved down to Charlotte. During a break in the tournament, we were partners in a close game of euchre. Lucky for McKenna, Danny found her loud, competitive side to be fun and captivating. That spring, we got to know each other better through sand volleyball and club ultimate. McKenna grew impatient of waiting and finally asked Danny on a date, which neither of us knew if it was a date or not until halfway through when Danny outright asked "is this a date?".

During our trip with some friends to Cape Cod, Danny proposed! We were at our friend's parents' backyard eating an amazing lobster and steak dinner on the water right as the sun was setting. As we were taking photos with the sunset in the background, Danny surprised McKenna with the ring, got a little tongue tied while trying to propose, and only managed to get out "Alright McKenna" as he was down on one knee. "Alright McKenna" will live on and always bring a smile to our faces as we remember that incredible night.
