At the time Yousif's friend, Garett, was dating Allyson's college roommate. They planned a beach trip and invited their recently single friends (the couple). During the trip, we became close and decided to keep in touch. After 3 months we couldn't hide our feelings for one another and made it official! 5 years later and we are ecstatic to be sharing this special moment with you all.

As a multicultural couple, we aim to celebrate both our Iraqi and American customs. On Saturday, June 18th, 2022 the Alousis visited the Krafts to ask for Allyson's hand in marriage. After that traditional engagement, the couple was officially engaged. Shortly after on Saturday, July 9th, 2022 the couple took a trip to town of Occoquan where they took a walk before dinner. Yousif led Allyson to a beautiful scene of roses and candles, where he then got down on one knee and asked Allyson "to spend the rest of their lives together." The rest is history.
