Dalles and Ally met at Southern Adventist University and developed a friendship. Their senior year of college, they both decided to continue their studies and pursue careers as Physical Therapists at Loma Linda University. It wasn't until the end of PT school that they began to have an interest in each other. A mutual friend brought them to Laguna beach where he immediately abandoned them, leaving them on their first, unplanned date. A couple months later, they decided to make things official and the rest is history.

Dalles had spent months planning a road trip up the PCH with the final destination being just north of San Francisco at Point Reyes. Despite Ally's frequent questioning and snooping, Dalles somehow managed to have her family fly into the nearest airport, without her knowledge, so they could witness the proposal. The premise was a sunset walk followed by a nice dinner. The one caveat was that there was absolutely no way they would be able to see the sunset because of the dense fog that had taken over San Fran. Despite the weather conditions, they continued on to a "sunset walk". When reaching the proposal site, Dalles led Ally to a small patch of flowers and proposed. She said yes immediately! Unbeknownst to Ally, her family was all squished into a rental mini van hiding just out of site. After hugging, Dalles told Ally he had a surprise for her, in which her entire family was standing behind him! It was the absolute best weekend, surrounded by family.
