Laz was a year into living his best life in San Diego, Ally moved here at the end of 2020 to a place where she knew “nobody” and nothing about it - except that her mom, Laurie, always said it was the perfect temperature for her (she was right). A new bar in town started hosting an outdoor show for a Dead cover band every Sunday afternoon, and they both went to the first one on March 21, 2021. Ally saw her only friend at a picnic table inside as she waited in line, but she also saw Laz behind the stage dancing with his hands up in the air, hair coming out of his hat and a huge smile. As soon as she came in Laz came over to her table to "move his sweatshirt for us" and offered her friends some beer in his old scratchy voice. “I’ll probably make out with him one day,” Ally told this old friend. After a few weeks he asked for her number. When she showed up at Aquarius on a Friday looking extra cute in hopes her cute new crush was there, he was, but he wasn't alone. Laz's dad, Larry was visiting, they were meeting "friends" at the Loma Club but Larry insisted "you absolutely must join us for dinner!" Turned out they were meeting a girl Laz was seeing, but Ally didn't really care. The girl left, Ally stayed, and thats how the story goes. They were attached at the hip, holding hands, Ally never not sitting on Laz’s lap or intertwined in some way the rest of the night, and at the end they shared a little kiss. Exactly two years later they hosted an engagement party at Aquarius with their SD friends and family, and now we look forward to forever... On our first trip to this m a g i c a l pueblo we fell in love as quickly as we fell for each other, and decided this is definitely where we want to get married. We can’t wait to share our place with you, spend time together laughing, relaxing and partying, a few of our favorite things! And as Laz likes to say, "only share your favorite places with your favorite people." Vamos!
