I mean, sure, there was high school and a spattering of dates here and there. But it really got going during the NFL playoffs, January 4, 2015. Mike's beloved 'Boys were back in the playoffs for the first time in FORRRRREVVVVVVEEEEERRRR. It was a glorious day. For him. As he celebrated watching the game at Weisblatt's house with boys, he received a text "Go Lions". Ignore. Allison, the ever-loving Giants fan, went for playful banter. Not during these playoffs, notuhh. The 'Boys won, exuberance followed with lots of screaming and finally a jubilant ride home. Then it came. The call. It was Allison, none too pleased by being ignored despite the obvious ill-wishes that Mike knew it was. Mike answered, quickly to be made aware he had some 'splainin to do. Oh boy. So 'splainin he offered, "Let's hang out". No no, not enough, she needed to be asked on a "proper date". That proper date was offered, the next day, so it would be remembered. The proper date happened, the 20th first date. What followed was a courtship marked by some great comedy shows, starting with Louis C.K. at the Garden, then the likes of Bill Burr, Whitney Cummings, Lewis Black and of course Kevin Hart. There were sporting events, concerts (Bruno Mars took the cake), plenty of dinners, lots of laughs with many a good friend and eventually, Emmitt Taylor. What was probably inevitable since they met in high school eventually happened August 10, 2019 in Stone Harbor, NJ in presence of Allison's family. Mike, with his Great-Aunt's ring in tow and as cool, calm and collected as ever, asked Allison to be his forever corn-hole partner (which still hasn't actually happened), as long as she agreed to smell his farts (which has happened, A LOT). In fairness, it's a two-way street, but isn't that what love is? So here we are, looking forward to celebrating our wedding with you, outdoors of course!
