In June 2017, our mutual friend J.T. Chestnut played matchmaker. After Joshua saw my photos on the internet he decided to stalk me on Instagram. After receiving alerts for an obsessive amount of (likes) on my photos, I decided to address his picture approvals via direct messenger. (June 22nd, 2017)
After only communicating a few days, Joshua asked me to be his plus one at his friends (Jeffery & Mali Wills) wedding on July 1st 2017, with the expectation that I would not accept. Wrong! I was on a flight to Boise a few days later. Our first physical encounter was an awkward side hug and the presentation of a white rose at the Boise Airport.
While on our first date (wedding), a woman leaned over and pointed out his parents, who were also in attendance. Joshua later insisted that I meet them. No pressure at all!
The morning after our first date was also Joshua’s birthday and we had a second wedding to attend. We decided to float the river in Kuna and had his sister drive us back to the top to get the car. So I met Rebecca while in a bikini. Not awkward at all. The following day (July 3rd 2017) I met the family at his birthday party. We then spent the day together for 4th of July. Keep in mind we had only known each other a few days.
After a night of drunken dancing during our first date (wedding), surrounded by friends and family, I realized that we had no alone time the entire evening. The only time we were alone was while cleaning up after the wedding. I first kissed Allison next to the dumpsters in the back of the venue. I went in with so much excitement, we bumped teeth and I could easily have knocked them out. Turns out her first kiss with Chris Farmer was also next to a dumpster in 5th grade. If you can’t find us at the wedding, check the dumpsters.
Prior to meeting Allison’s parents I knew her father was a football coach. Per her request, I was told not to mention that I preferred soccer. Following the introduction, a family friend asked if I played football, no surprise when it comes to the Paganetti territory. My honest answer for loving soccer resulted in a look of shock and panic from Allison.
The Paganetti family reunion is at the Yale vs. Harvard game every year. Word spread fast of my love for soccer. My only redemption to win back their approval was to memorize everyone’s names. That would impress anyone, right? Luck for me, Allison and I worked on that for weeks before heading to New England.
