The couple was introduced by Maid of Honor, Jade Buhman, during the summer of 2018. A group of friends met up at Drew's apartment before going out to dinner. The second Allie saw his two dogs, she knew she wanted to be in their lives forever. Marrying Drew seemed like the easiest way to make this dream a reality.

Allie was visiting Spain with a friend in the summer of 2022. Her friend suggested a hike out to a small chapel named San Juan De Gaztelugatxe. The chapel is located on an island in the Bay of Biscay, accessible only by a rock footbridge. Allie's friend assured her that the hike was short and flat, as well as encouraged her to wear a dress and sandals. When the duo arrived at San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Allie realized that while the hike was short, it definitely should not be described as "flat". When they made it to the chapel, they began to explore the area surrounding it. As Allie went to walk along the side of the chapel that paralleled the bay, she noticed stone benches inset to the side of the chapel. As she was passing one of the benches, she could see a pair of feet sticking out wearing oddly familiar shoes. As she was fully passing by she noticed familiar shorts, shirt, and face as well. While realization began to dawn on Allie, Drew got down on one knee, and asked her to be his wife. Good job Drew!
