We met in middle school where we shared a first kiss in our 8th grade year and we have remained in contact throughout our adulthood.
In 2017, while living in different states, Allison and Dillon rekindled a young love that grew stronger through communication and plenty of trips to see one another. On a weekend trip to San Diego, California - the two love birds chartered a sailboat on San Diego Bay, and on that sailboat Dillon asked Allison to spend her life with him. Allison was speechless and chuckled nervously during Dillon's beautiful and thoughtful proposal. While she accepted Dillon's proposal with joy, she was relieved to not have fallen from the boat from the surprise.
After an unusual and unexpected delay in our wedding planning, we unfortunately contracted the virus in December 2020. After many anxious nights and what felt like endless thoughts about the future, we made an promise to each other that we wanted to be able to take care of each other forever- be married, be each others confidant, be lifelong companions under the law and under God. We wanted to make that life happen as soon as possible, not when it will be right to have a large (& safe) gathering. At the beginning of 2021, we made the decision to be happily married by the end of the year. Although we've had to make many sacrifices along the way, but we are overjoyed to start a newly married life on December 18, 2021.
We are celebrating our union privately with a church ceremony preceding a brunch reception at one of our favorite New Orleans restaurants.
To be able to gather everyone we love and adore would be our biggest wish. We believe waiting a little longer for celebratory drinks and dancing in New Orleans is the right decision for us and our guests.
