It's happening!

Hans and Allison nonchalantly ran into each other on a dating site on April 23, 2020- on Hans' 27th birthday! They quickly learned they had a lot in common, including both having one son. Alex was five and Elias was two at the time. They chatted nonstop about parenting life, work life, their love for food, their faith, and even past hardships for about two weeks and hardly slept they were so excited. Hans mentioned that he was soon visiting his sister Aly in Forest, VA which was where Allison lived. Little did they know at the time, Aly only lived five minutes away from her. Allison was excited but nervous to ask if Hans wanted to finally meet each other in person. They decided to meet at Peaks View Park but were too nervous to officially call it a date. Allison was too nervous (again) to have a dinner date so she brought smoothies and they walked in the park until sunset. They hit it off right away and learned a lot more about each other. Thankfully they both thought each other was cute. From there on they traveled between Harrisonburg and Lynchburg almost every week. They got creative and thought up a lot of halfway date spots like Lexington, Wintergreen, and all around the Afton area. There was a lot of caffeine and night driving involved but it was all 100% worth it! They even worked around all of the COVID worries and restrictions and finally got to experience some non-COVID dating summer of 2021. Alex soon met Hans and Elias met Allison. It was a big milestone but it couldn't have gone any better and both boys were happy to have a new special friend in their lives. They all soon felt like one little family and went on a lot of adventures like going to King's Dominion, camping, having fun snow days together, going to arcades, to the beach, pumpkin patches, and the list goes on. They went right back to Peaks View Park on October 2, 2021 and reminisced their first moments together. Hans popped the question and the celebration began. Let the celebration continue!!
