Savannah-HitonHead International Airport

This is the closest airport to Fripp Island and has the most available flights. It is an hour and a half away from the island with connecting flights from Atlanta and Charlotte.

Fripp Island Beach and Golf Resort

You can rent houses and condos directly through Fripp Island. Feel free to reach out to them to see what is available! We recommend that you consider Platinum or Gold rated rentals. If you rent through the Group Sales Office of Fripp Island Resort, you will receive a discount off the price of your rental as well as Guest Cards. Each adult who wants to use the Resort Facilities, including restaurants, bars, pools, tennis, golf, etc., will need his/her own individual Guest Card.

If you do not want to rent a car to get to Fripp Island you can contact Charlie Hanson at 912-272-9646 for transportation. He accepts all major credit cards and requests a 24 hour advance notice for scheduling. His rates are listed below, but please contact him to confirm. He is also more than happy to stop and wait for you if you want to run into the grocery store, liquor store, Walmart, or some other place before driving out to Fripp. Hilton Head or Savannah Airport from Fripp: One Way $60 Charleston: One Way $100, Round Trip $150 From Fripp to Bluffton: One Way $40, Round Trip $80 From Fripp to Savannah or Savannah to Fripp: $60 One Way, Round Trip $120 Other options include Tim George, (904) 624-0618. And "Ride on Time", Randy Morris, Owner, www.RideOnTime.org, (843) 940-0166. Even Left and Uber have been known to make the trip to Fripp from either the Savannah or Charleston Airport, but it could cost $100+. (I understand that Charlie Hanson may currently be unavailable.)

Fripp Island, ...Generally Speaking

Fripp Island is a very small island. It is only 3 miles long from tip to tip, and a mile wide. It is very easy to get around, and no place on the island is more than 5-10 minutes away. There is no bad place to stay on the island. Once you are on the island, you will have little need for a car, particularly if your rental accommodation comes equipped with bikes or a golf cart. If your accommodations do not have these extra amenities available, you can ask the Group Sales office to rent a cart or bikes for you. How long you decide to stay at Fripp is up to you. On your way to Fripp you might consider stopping at a grocery store. Although we expect there will be plenty of food and beverage throughout the weekend, you might wish to have something for breakfast or to take out to the beach for lunch. All housing options have kitchens, so you can enjoy your own home cooking as much or as little as you like. Just remember that the closest grocery store is 21 miles away from Fripp.
