We're Getting Married!

Aliya went first by taking Liz to the site of the first same-sex marriage in the U.S. (in 2004)- Cambridge City Hall in Cambridge, MA, right outside Boston. Liz thought we were just picking up takeout, and Aliya pretended we were posing for photos by the cute rainbow-painted benches, but she was in for a special surprise! One month later, Aliya and Liz were visiting Baltimore to view wedding venues, and planned to get together outdoors with friends. Aliya's best friend Christa brought her on a walk around the inner harbor, and when they got back, Liz surprised Aliya with a pride-themed proposal, surrounded by their close friends, while Aliya's favorite song played on keyboard. We cannot begin to describe how excited we are to celebrate with all of you who we love so much - See you in Baltimore!

Our wedding will be at The American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD on Saturday, May 14th 2022. This venue holds a special place in both of our hearts - it's warm, quirky, beautiful, and captures the unique spirit of Baltimore! We also had one of our first dates here. We're honored to support the museum's mission of education, self-taught intuitive artistry, social justice, and community.
