Travel Note

PARKING IS LIMITED IN THE TOWN OF ROCKPORT, MA

Unless you have a designated parking spot where you are staying, we do not recommend driving into Rockport if you are staying overnight, as parking is limited in the town, especially in the summer tourist season. Uber and Lyft are also limited on Cape Ann and we cannot guarantee they would be available after the reception is over. For those driving in just for the evening, we have permission to have guests park at Rockport High School (24 Jerdens Ln, Rockport, MA 01966). There will be a shuttle that will take you to and from the venue and this parking lot, as well as the Rockport Inn and Suites. These parking accommodations will ONLY be available the night of the ceremony and reception. We highly recommend securing accomodations within the town near the venue so you are not struggling to get there on time! Please see the below sections on train travel and local vacation home rentals to minimize this issue.

Shuttle

MBT Worldwide Shuttle Bus from Rockport High School (Parking Lot)

August 17, 2024 4:30 pm - 11:30 pm

PARKING: Rockport High School is located at 24 Jerdens Ln, Rockport, MA 01966 On 8/17/24, we have the Rockport High School parking lot reserved from 4:00 pm to 11:30 pm. A 38-person shuttle will run between the Rockport Inn & Suites, Rockport High School, and the venue starting at 4:45 pm from the Inn & Suites. Please see below for a preliminary schedule that will be updated as we finalize it: ~4:45 pm: Shuttle leaves from Rockport Inn & Suites ~4:50 pm: Shuttle leaves from Rockport High School parking lot ~5:00 pm: First shuttle drops off at Rockport Art Association (wedding venue) Shuttles will run every 15 min or so until TBD time. At the end of the night, the shuttle will bring guests back from the venue to the parking lot and hotel. It is a 17-minute walk from the high school to the venue if you miss it. The exact schedule is TBD.

We have a few rooms reserved here. There is no discount code, so for the hotel block discount, please call the front desk to book and say you are with the Smith-Flores wedding group. There will be a shuttle stop going from here to the venue. Please book soon, as the cut off for booking these rooms at the group rate is June 16, 2024.

Atlantic Vacation Homes

If you are planning on staying the night and the hotel block is full, we HIGHLY recommend early reservation of an Airbnb, Bed & Breakfast, Vrbo, or other vacation rental in the town of Rockport, ideally within walking distance of the Rockport Art Association and Museum. The above option is just an example of one of the local vacation home websites with places available for rent. Book early and be aware that some spots require multi-day stays. A good excuse to stay on lovely Cape Ann for a few more days in the summer and explore! Flight

Boston Logan International Airport

The closest airport is definitely Boston Logan International. The airport even has a direct public transit line from the airport into Rockport! See the train section for more details. There are rental cars available from the airport as well.

Train

Newburyport/Rockport Line - MBTA Commuter Rail

Logan Airport has a public transit system that can take you directly to the town of Rockport! Take the free Silver Line airport shuttle from the arrival terminal to the World Trade Center stop. A 2 minute walk from there is the Chelsea Commuter Rail station. Pick up the Newburyport/Rockport line directly to Rockport. The stop is a 15 minute walk from the venue. The entire train ride takes about 2 hours. To compare, driving or an Uber from the airport will take about 1 hour without traffic.

Rental Car

Boston Logan International Airport Rental Car Center

If you need to rent a car, this is the place. Unless you have a designated parking spot where you are staying, we do not recommend renting a car and driving yourself into Rockport except on the day of the wedding (8/17), as parking is very limited in the town, especially in the summer peak tourist season. For those driving in just for the evening, we have permission to have guests park at Rockport High School (24 Jerdens Ln, Rockport, MA 01966), which is a 17 min walk from the venue, as well as a shuttle that will take you to and from the venue and this parking lot, as well as the Rockport Inn and Suites if you are staying there.
