The summer of 2007 was their first shot at meeting. Was it love at first sight? No, not even a greeting. Mike had just started working at Taylor. Alison was filling in for the summer. Back then, both were too shy to say even hello. The timing wasn’t right; they had to learn and grow. Alison left for her junior year abroad While Mike stayed and worked hard Then Alison went off chasing the snow From N Zed, to Japan, to Colorado While Alison wandered the planet Mike developed many a good habit While Alison focused on snowboarding daily Mike cared for and loved his red golden Haley While Alison continued to instruct and roam Mike fixed up a house, and planted grass with some loam It wasn’t until about ten years later, That a broken printer brought them together. Alison was helping in the parts department for a stint, When one day the bin locations just would not print. Putting parts away without knowing where, Alison got annoyed and began to despair. Mike came to the rescue with charm and chivalry They worked as a pair and the two became friendly Mike had helped Alison put the parts away, But when snow began to fall, Alison did not stay. They were headed in different directions; it still wasn’t their time Until a few years later, when the stars seemed to align On a hike in the Blue Hills Alison began falling for Mike And Mike knew their feelings were more than just like, Because he still thought Alison was simply great When she arrived an hour late for their very first date After that hike up big blue, their affection only grew. Mike had no doubt that their love was true So he went to Mr. Herbert, nervously hoping he forgot That he had once sunk a forklift into his lot That lift got stuck like into quick sand But Mike got permission to ask Alison’s hand October 11th 2019, so many years after they almost first met Mike proposed to Alison under a beautiful Nokomis beach sunset.
