Our Love Story

Haedon usually didn't care where his Friday nights took him, but this weekend he had a feeling there was something at this bonfire he wouldn't want to miss. Ali rarely went to parties, but it was the end of her senior year and time to live a little. It didn't take the two long to catch each other's eye and start talking. Ali found out Haedon worked on a farm in her hometown, and Haedon realized Ali was "the girl who shot squirrels out of her barn window". When it came time for Ali to leave, Haedon almost let her get away without asking for her number. Rookie mistake. As Ali and her friend headed across the yard, they heard Haedon running and yelling behind them. On her way home, Ali got a "Let me know when you're home safe!" text, and she missed Haedon already. Ali was Haedon's first love, and he was hers. They spent most of their time on the farm, riding backroads in Haedon's old Ford, around bonfires, and with their families. The two shared the kind of love they had always dreamed of. They spent the next year and a half planning for their perfect future together, but God had His own plan for them. Ali's family moved to Florida, and she soon followed. Haedon joined the Army and headed off to serve. The two kept in touch, Ali even stored away some letters Haedon sent from his time in the service, but there didn't seem to be much chance of life together again. But, like every good love story, it doesn't just end there. In September of 2021, Haedon visited Ali and her family in Florida for a night while he was on leave. After a night of talking and catching up, Ali felt more at home than she had since leaving Connecticut. When it came time for Haedon to head back to Orlando, where he was staying with a friend, Ali couldn't help but tear up. She knew these tears meant she still loved this boy. Little did she know, Haedon was driving away and tearing up, too. A few days later, Haedon texted her saying that he was making the drive back to Texas from Orlando and wanted to stop in to her shop for one last cup of coffee. Haedon showed up with flowers in hand, and the two sat and talked for a while. Eventually, Haedon left and Ali went back to work. It wasn't until she got in her car for her lunch break that she found a note Haedon left, telling her that he still loved her. Over the course of the next few months, Ali couldn't stop thinking about that note. She knew God was moving in her life and guiding her back to Haedon. On January 5th, Ali called Haedon to wish him a happy birthday, just as he did for her a few weeks prior. What Haedon didn't know was that Ali was also calling to say she was ready to be in a relationship again. Haedon still had eight months in the military and Ali had her business that she couldn't leave, so the two rekindled their love over FaceTime calls each night. Haedon booked a trip to visit Ali in April. On April 20th, 2022, Haedon proposed and Ali said yes! They only had a few days together as a newly-engaged couple before Haedon had to go back to Texas. Finally, September came and Haedon's time in the military was up! He moved to Florida to be with Ali so the two could pick up where they left off six years ago, living out their dream life with each other. As their wedding day gets closer, the two are so excited to become husband and wife and to have you by their side on such a special day!
