We went bird hunting on opening weekend of Partridge Season in 2020. We got up early and drove up to zone 2 to where I had previously worked two years prior. It was peak foliage at the time, so even if we didn’t see many birds there was still some of the most vibrant foliage that I have ever seen. We explored some woods roads early in the morning with the company of my brother, and found a ridge that overlooked the most beautiful spread of foliage. We continued to hunt the rest of the day and eventually dropped my brother off back at moose camp at lunch. We had a ton of luck that day and we both got our bag limit on birds. Right at sunset Hayden suggested we go back up to the top of the ridge we had found earlier in the day to take some pictures of our birds and the sunset. We got up there and while I was busy setting up the photo op, Hayden secretly pulled the ring out of the truck and got down on one knee behind me. He followed this up by saying “Do you wanna get a picture of this too?”, I turned around and I was so surprised and obviously said “YES!” So basically it will be impossible to ever beat this bird hunting trip in the future!
