Ali and Stewart grew up just a couple miles apart and attended middle school together. The couple specifically remembers sitting next to each other in eighth grade Spanish class. Unfortunately, the couple would lose touch from 2008 until 2016 when the two started running into each other in downtown Richmond with mutual friends. It wouldn't be until April 2017 that Ali and Stewart would serendipitously reconnect in Key West, FL while on Senior Spring Break. From then on the rest is history!
Emerald Isle has quickly become the couple's favorite vacation spot. During Covid with little to do in the summer Ali and Stewart spent weeks at a time working remotely at the beach which enhanced their love of the island. On May 21, 2022 Stewart suggested they walk on the beach to their dinner reservation. Ali, hoping this would be a special walk, didn't hesitate. This particular day on the beach had been windy but the couple wasn't expecting the beach to be totally empty at 6pm. After walking about 50 yards Stewart spun Ali around, dropped to one knee and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. The moment was so special and of course, she said yes!!
