Alex and Miranda met sophomore year at John Carroll High School in Bel Air, MD. They had one class together and it was in that class that their friendship, and the friendships with those who would later be some of their closest friends, started to grow. Over the next two years, the group of "usual suspects" would hang out in the auditorium after school or at each others' houses, playing music, debating philosophy, and stressing out about college applications. By senior year, Alex and Miranda's friendship was going strong and Alex took a chance in asking Miranda out. At first, Miranda said she wasn't ready to commit to a relationship because she was worried about losing her best friend. But don't fret - she realized her mistake and said yes to him the next day!
The toughest years of Alex and Miranda's relationship were the college years. Spending the four years of college several hours apart, Alex and Miranda would like to thank Skype for making the long distance more bearable. Alex would surprise Miranda multiple times by appearing unexpectedly at the Stevens women's basketball games, and Miranda would introduce him to his favorite food in Hoboken, NJ - Mr. Wraps. It was difficult at first, but they believed it would all be worth it after graduation!
Alex and Miranda have been living together for five years after college with their two kids (cats) - Artemis and Oliver. Whenever they can, they'll take to the trails, rocks, or streams, enjoying the views and enjoying each other's company. They have seen a couple of National Parks (Shenandoah, VA & Acadia, ME), and aim to visit all the National Parks in the U.S! But for now, Alex and Miranda's adventure will reach a summit in Havre de Grace, MD - one of many on this lifelong adventure.
