High School Sweethearts

August 22, 2015

Earth Science Class! By the end of our freshman year, our teacher Mrs. Jones told us we were like an old married couple. She said we just needed to go ahead and date each other, because it was destined to happen. Well, she was right! In our Junior year at Riverbend High School right before summer break, we became super close. Over the summer we had numerous of dates. We would go to the movies or meet each other for lunch. Tyrell’s personal favorite was stopping by my job at Arby’s to have dinner with me! By the end of summer, August 22nd, Tyrell had asked me to be his girlfriend! We have always seen movies about couples being high school sweethearts, and living happily together for ever. Now, that couple is us! We have loved growing together and watching us become the people we imagined each other would be!

Alexis’ Version of the Engagment

March 17, 2018

We were in Williamsburg for what I thought was going to be a family day, to celebrate the upcoming birthdays! We went shopping at the outlets, and then headed to Captain George’s for dinner! After eating and talking for a bit, my mom wanted me to walk with her to get another plate! She walked back to the table, and asked me to get something for her. When I finally got back to the table everyone was looking at me weird. Tyrell handed me two dozen roses and went on with a speech that he started off quietly and then stopped and said, “ I am going to say this louder so everyone can hear me.” Everyone stopped, and there was almost complete silence when he started talking about how I was the love of his life, and he was never unsure about whether or not we should get married! Tyrell got down on one knee, and my jaw dropped! Before he could ask me to marry him, I had moved my promise ring over and I said Yes!!

Tyrell’s Verison of Engagement

The engagement was a very long process to plan, by making sure Alexis didn’t suspect any of my planning that i was trying to do for her. We even fussed at each other cause she wanted to know what was i doing alot of the time and not letting her use my phone. Me, and her Mother Samatha was sharing ideas of how i should surprise her without her knowing. So we figured that Alexis’ Grandfather Earl and my Mother’s Shaleene birthdays was in the same month, so we figured we could just get both families together and go to Williamsburg for the day of shopping and eating good food. The whole time Alexis was just thinking we was having a normal family birthday dinner between them two. As we sit and everybody is enjoying their dinner, Alexis and her mom went to go get a plate of food. At the time I was unsure when was the right time to go back out to the vehicle and get all the items i needed to surprise her. So Momma Coles occupied Alexis just for enough time for me to go get the items and set everything up, for when she got back to the table. As i seen Alexis walking back to the table with her mom, i started to get nervous about my speech. Alexis sat down and i pulled out these beautiful roses to hand to her. Then i started my speech, my speech stopped a good amount of people in the restaurant to stop what they were doing and to listen to what i had to say to her and then I got down on one knee and before I finished asking Alexis will you marry me she automaticaly said YES and removed her promise ring to the side and put her new ring on her finger.
