Our love story started way back in 8th grade when we started dating! We met on the 7th grade track team at Vickey Creek Middle School and as we got to know each other we couldn’t seem to stop wanting to spend time together. Mason asked me to be his girlfriend on the pathway to the docks in Athens Boat a Club (which is where mason bought his first house in 2018). After dating all through high school and going to every prom and homecoming together we both decided we couldn’t imagine not being minutes down the road and decided we both wanted to go to Georgia College and State University! Mason joined the fishing and became a member of Kappa Sigma and Alexis became a Phi Mu! We had so much fun in college going on every date night and formal together. Mason cut his time short graduating from college in only 3 years and we did one year of long distance, but that is when mason and I spent time working on his house and fixing it up to be so beautiful! Mason and I have always loved each other and into our adult relationship we both have grown individually and together, we have pushed each other to be the best versions of ourselves, and we are truly better together! By the time we are married we will have been together over 12 years and we cannot wait for a lifetime to go!
Mason and I were down in Destin, Florida (one of our favorite vacation spots) with his family! One night we all walked to one of our favorite beach bar and restaurant. As we were waiting for a table mason asked if I wanted to take a walk on the beach. I cluelessly agreed and as we started walking down the beach I spotted a perfectly set up beach picnic and still had no idea what was about to happen. I told mason “look I bet that’s for the beach wedding we saw getting set up earlier, it’s beautiful”. Mason kept bringing me closer and as we got to the picnic table he said “Alexis this is not for a wedding, what if I told you this was all for you” and he got down on a knee and asked me to be his wife! To my biggest surprise was both of our families hiding and came out cheering for us, this night was so incredibly special and September 10th will always have a special place in our hearts!
