Connor and Alexis were introduced by their mutual friend Jessica (Ratner) Evanko who set them up on a blind date for the Bucknell Women's Soccer Date Party during their junior year of college. The rest is history!

Our families were planning to meet for dinner in Long Beach Island, NJ, where Connor's family has been spending their summers for generations. Before dinner, Connor took Alexis on a walk on the beach and as they were walking back to the house Connor proposed in the dunes. Both our families were there to celebrate and we went for a beautiful dinner at the Gables restaurant.

At their engagement dinner, Connor's dad, Jim, shared the below poem: On this day, August 20th two thousand twenty three It is with great delight that we all got to see Connor with diamond ring and down on one knee While Alexis said YES, YES, YES and we all said YIPEEEE! A big beautiful diamond ring 2 carats or more Connor wanted to pop the question down here at the shore So, with sea-shell ring holder and diamond enclosed With much love in his heart to Alexis he proposed And now with you Alexis, Rich, Shelley and DG We are so grateful to have an expanded family Who would’ve thought that these two All-Patriot league academic and athletic stars would have met Lehigh’s Donovan hitting home runs and Bucknell’s Gannon kicking balls into the back of the net On a blind date at Bucknell they met at the soccer formal I’m just glad she thought he was nice, sweet and kind of normal They have much in common with their love of family, friends, sports, learning and career As well as tacos, long walks, zoos, big hugs, animals, games and love for a little King Charles cavalier They’ve dated for seven years through college and after 2,555 plus days filled with respect, admiration, love and laughter From Lewisburg to Bethlehem, Excelsior to Yardley, PA From Palm Desert to Ocean City to Beach Haven for a weekend stay From Wilmington to New York City to Edgewater, NJ We’re so happy that their long-distance romance brought us here today No matter the county, city or state That meeting at the soccer formal all those years back had to be fate You each with great qualities make for each other the perfect mate So let’s start partying and showing off that ring … it’s time to celebrate!
