In early August of 2017, two new hires at Jebbit went over to Sterling's for a cocktail to meet some team members. One of those new hires was Alexia Phipps, who had just moved to Boston on a whim because it brought her that much closer to NYC, her eventual destination. After a few introductions were made, one colleague walked Alexia up to Geoff to introduce themselves. "Hi, I'm Geoff," he said in the deepest most booming voice she'd ever heard. Tall and blue-eyed to boot, she was immediately intrigued. On the next work-from-home Thursday she had the perfect excuse to look him up in the company directory and text him: He being the workhorse he is, was one of two people going into the office to work that Thursday, and she hadn't yet received a key to get in. A year later and Alexia and Geoff had become good work friends. They were the ones that socialized after work with peers, and occasionally just by themselves to catch up. The pair found they had a lot in common, such as being the oldest sibling of large families and studying abroad in Spain. The occasional drink after work had become a bit more routine by Spring of 2019, but with Geoff unavailable and Alexia falling for him hard, she decided to pull back and visit a psychic for answers. "Who is the tall, handsome man with dark hair that you spend a lot of time with? The one with an M in his name." The next time Geoff and Alexia grabbed a drink after work, she spilled all the details of the visit to the psychic. "So does that mean the psychic thought I was handsome, or that you do?" Geoff asked. On went yet another 4-hours of easy conversation. Their first official date was on Friday May 10th, 2019 at Parla in the North End. The two would enjoy some tapas & wine before heading next door to a front-row show at Improv Asylum. When the spotlight shined on Geoff and the host asked "What's your name, who are you with and how do you know each other?" he answered "work friends." The crowd burst out in laughter.
